The radio even sounds clear and crisp. Searched for quite some time to find a decent speaker at a decent price. We've watched several movies and have been able to direct the sound to where we are sitting. These speakers were exceptionally inexpensive and are fabulous speakers. We purchased the surround sound, 6" speakers and these 8" speakers and our basement family room now just rocks. They install in just minutes and have a clean look on the ceiling. Would not hesitate to purchase these speakers.
I put these in as surrounds in my basement this week and they were real easy to install - took about 15 minutes per speaker to cut the holes in the drop ceiling tiles using the cut-out template provided and to hook up the speakers and mount them securely. They sound great, though they aren't being taxed very heavily as surrounds. I would definitely recommend these if you can get the pair for under $100
We listen to our background music a little on the load side and these do just great, with no distortion, hiss, or pop. These are ceiling speakers for us in a large great room and they fill the space with lovely sound. Every bit as good as speakers costing 4 times as much for what we use them for.
These are a great addition to complete any surround system (especially 7.1) Purchased them for 79.99, which was a steal. Deliver a medium level amount of base (but not something you need to be concerned with if you already have a decent subwoofer and are simply using these as surround speakers). Very crisp and clear sound. Adjustable tweeters are also a very nice perk.
I wasn't expecting such a great sound from these speakers based on the price, but my expectations were exceeded. Don't get me wrong--audiophiles will not consider these for their listening rooms, but as a for the rest of us the sound is great and the price is right. The directional tweeters make more of a difference than I thought they would.
